Not to derail the thread too much but
Centurion I would be curious to know what,
specifically, you believe Chase and Capital One are doing
better in the premium card market? I don't tend to see either of those companies doing anything innovative, apart from offering simpler (if reduced) perks.
People like to rip on the Platinum card as a coupon card and, while there is certainly some validity to that, if you offer a wide array of benefits then you are not going to please every
one with every
thing you offer. That said, it is still fairly easy to use a portion of the Platinum card's benefits and come out ahead of the annual fee. In my case, the benefits that I do utilize tend to be leagues ahead of the competitors'.
I am amused by how offended people seem to be by these art offerings, certainly they appear to be serving as strawmen for larger grievances.
