I can tell you that Sabre is a pain to work with. We tried to get Sabre API access for a legitimate project and even already had a good relationship with Sabre's local branch.
Still our application for simple test API access went nowhere. Months of back and forth with pages upon pages of paperwork, like with a government agency. Then we gave up and stuck with Amadeus.
