I'm booked for California over Christmas and New Year for what was intended to be a relaxing trip, however, with known existing hoops to jump through regarding tests and declaration rubbish, the concerns of testing positive for Covid a day prior to departure or the possibility of travel rules changing while in the US and self isolating on return, I am seriously considering just taking a voucher as the intended purpose of the trip will be difficult to achieve.

It's a shame as the price I paid for the J flights to LAX are unlikely to be repeated.

We just seem to be on a continuous Covid merry go round with no end game in sight which doesn't bode well for future travel, but pharma companies providing pre-travel testing at sometimes extortionate fees will no doubt hope for a prolonged pandemic.
