As I was reading another website (airliners.net), I saw a post that said that Air tran would not take ATA's place at MDW if they did not get all of the available gates. Sorry, but I can not find a link. The only thing I can tell you is that it was on Bloomberg news.

Anyway, has anyone else heard this rumor. I heard that there was also an article in today's Chicago Tribune. (To check their website, you need to register.)

I have a hard time believing that Air Tran was expecting to get every gate at MDW. The city owns the gates, and therefore decides where they are allocated. And Southwest has made it known that they would like at least 4 gates extra. Any ideas?
