Just noticed the Hertz no longer allows mileage credit to United (was rarely a font of points or a good deal, but great for keeping account active)

presume that this is fruit of the United Avis announcements see United and Avis ink new partnership

I did recently spend some Hertz credits on an essentially free week rental— only hitch with the Hertz points was that we could not extend the stay on points: had to pay for any extra days

I also see one still can’t credit BA either — for a while, I would switch rentals occasional to Avis just to prop up an old British pool of aveos
