Because the app is stupid, I uploaded a screenshot of my Alberta vaccine record. The one that has given me no problems getting printed BPs when verified at the airport, getting into MLLs, or getting into restaurants in many provinces. And this is the response I got:

Except when I hit Try again, it just took my to finish OLCI, but without giving me BPs. And I see no way to try again, at least in the app. So now I'm going to have to go screw around with the website

EDIT:

The website didn't give me any option to submit different documents or anything like that. Seems once you've been rejected, that's it, you're screwed.

I tried checking in for the return flights, and tried uploading a differently cropped screenshot of my PDF. That was also rejected. This time it at least let me try again when I hit Try again. So I tried uploading an older format of vaccine proof that Alberta had before we had the QR codes and nicer formatting.

This time it wasn't rejected out of hand, but it was still unsuccessful and I still have 0 BPs.

Also, it seems clear that this is going to be required every single time. Even for the return portion of the same PNR, it has no link to my unsuccessful attempt to upload my proof on the outbound.

I've now wasted... probably over 45 minutes, I think, on trying to just get some BPs using extremely standard documentation from the 4th most populous province in the country. Good work, AC
