There is no reason to assume that the ticket will be "lost". When are you due to fly? And is the PNR still active?

Were there miles left over in your FB account after you'd made your award booking?

I would strongly advise against doing that. For one thing, you won't be able to associate a new Flying Blue account number with this Flying Blue award ticket.

Of course, this means that you are now "stuck" with the ticket; if you try to cancel it, you will almost certainly lose the miles.

PS: is there any chance that the miles for your October 2019 Air France flight actually posted to your Delta Skymiles account?
