I have an Apple gift card to apply to a new purchase, as well as some cash to liquidate. Does anyone know how the AmEx extended warranty works if the amount charged to the AmEx is net of the full price? Mine is a Centurion but I'm sure it would be the same as a Platinum membership.

The receipt would show the full price, then that cash and/or gift card was partial payment, with only a small balance for the device charged to AmEx. If the one year period when the AmEx extended warranty kicks in is needed, I want to be sure that it would be covered, and at the full purchase price (or repair cost), not maxed out at the amount charged to the AmEx.
