Residence Inn by Marriott Austin Downtown/Convention Center [Master Thread]

On our last night of a five night visit here and thought I'd give a trip report.

The RI and Courtyard share a driveway and entrance, and currently only the CY front desk is open for both hotels. Breakfast buffet is on the CY side and it's included for RI guests and $12 for CY guests. It seems limited relative to non Covid operations. Cereal, instant oatmeal cups, whole fruit, and a few hot items (eggs, potatoes, meat), yogurt, and packaged muffins, coffee, and juice. With yummy breakfast tacos as close as a block away, the breakfast is fine if you don't want to spend more money but overall... meh.

We got a king studio on the 12th floor. Looks to be very recently renovated and overall pretty nice and comfy. No housekeeping service during our stay but we did get some extra coffee pods from the front desk. We used the fridge and microwave for leftovers and drinks, and there's also a 2 burner stove. Shower has good water pressure and plenty of hot water.

All in all it's a good choice if you want to be in downtown and want a little extra room to kick back and relax in your room. We didn't have a car, but beware that the garage is valet only and $49/ night. Since this area is so walkable and Uber/Lyft are easy to go farther afield, a car might just be unnecessary.
