My wife purchased a ticket on Emirates with a local leg on Jetblue to Newark and onward to Dubai towards India. When she tried to board the flight in Newark, Emirates denied boarding to her saying the flight from Dubai to India was canceled due to bad weather and they offloaded her checked bags. They asked her to call reservations to get rebooked. When she called reservations they said there are no available flights for 2 more days and they will not provide any hotels in New York. Thankfully, she managed to purchase a flight on Qatar the next morning out of JFK. Emirates is refusing to provide a refund since the Jetblue leg was flown. Is this something the Amex Travel Insurance would cover? Both the Emirates ticket and the Qatar ticket were purchased on her Amex Platinum card, and are one way tickets.
