My parents had never been through LAX before and they made it to the gate with a 43 minute connection from T4 just as boarding started in the Eagle’s Nest (with carry-ons). Definitely a doable connection.
It's terrific that it went so well for your parents. I wouldn't want anyone reading this to assume that everyone's experience will be comparable; there are enough recent reports of wild inconsistencies in bus operation that, if it were parents or friends of mine, I wouldn't feel comfortable rolling the dice.
