Hey OP, a thought just occurred to me.

If you aren't concerned with SQD / SQS, you might be able to ticket this as YWG-YYZ-AUH-MLE via EY.
They operate YYZ-AUH.

That might actually work well for you, you'd still earn aeroplan reward miles, could book a few days stopover in Abu Dhabi (only an hour from Dubai, or 25 mins from the expo) and likely get the whole thing ticketed in J for $4500 or so.

Do you have any specific dates your looking at?
