Look, I agree Hyatt is a much better program overall, assuming their footprint works for you. But that doesn't mean you can't also admit that Hyatt also has its faults. And one of the most major faults is the games that it lets some properties play when it comes to booking award nights. The Andaz San Diego and the Andaz Maui and some others play ridiculous games. It's a fact. Again, I've never had to play the sheer amount of games to book with Marriott that come with some of the Hyatt properties. Sometimes the Andaz San Diego won't even let you book a night and pay cash when they have rooms available.
Are you literally meaning “pay cash” or are you saying they won’t let you book any revenue stays or stays of any type on a Saturday?
If it’s that you cannot actually use cash that’s because almost all properties in California have switched to “cashless environments” due to COVID so no cash is accepted.
