I used to be the assistant front office manager at the Four Seasons Inn on the Park in Houston (now the Omni), and we had the contract for the Air France flight crews. They were confined to the 7th floor, and for good reason - they smoked like chimneys and drank like fish, and that floor STANK.
Many of the crew were really lovely people - I still get postcards from some of them, 15 years later - but my god, some of them really did smell terrible. They would come downstairs to check out for their return flights and I would pity the poor passengers, their uniforms stank of BO so bad... it was usually newbies to the Houston flight, who didn't bring deodorant. Most crew who had been flying a while were clean and pressed and smelled fine. The ones who stank didn't even notice themselves.
