I have a couple weeks of vacation to use by the end of March and was looking at some time in the Maldives.

AC will sell flights from YWG to MLE through DOH or AUH, with the last leg on QR or EY. But I'd like to book it as two legs, to break up the trip with a day or two in DOH or AUH on the way, and book the first leg in latitude and upgrade it.

The website won't allow you to buy a flight direct from DOH/AUH to MLE - does anyone know if reservations will do this by phone? Or more generally - can you book partner flights on 014 ticket stock only if it's in combination with an AC operated flight? Alternatively - can reservations book a multi-city booking with flights in different classes (latitude on AC, paid business on Etihad/Qatar, and a layover in the middle?

I did a search and found a thread pertaining to some UA flights - but nothing specific to the new partnerships with QR and EY launched last year. I called AC and was put on hold for a while - and I'm sure someone here might know the answer faster...
