Smash and grab thwarted in Downtown Palo Alto (maybe 2 miles from where my parents reside). Perps were not too bright as they failed to empty their vehicle of good stolen from an earlier heist in Marin.

I'm right behind you (though definitely not to horrid Florida!) As I've said elsewhere, my son is 5th generation San Francisco native but I suspect he may be the last. Unlike the current generation I was not raised to cut and run when a job gets tough but I don't see any possibility that California state government has the ability or inclination to turn the ship around. I'm thinking about setting up shop overseas with a permanent US residence in zero-income-tax Nevada.
