In my very humble opinion, you and I grew up during an era in what was one of the greatest cities in the world, and during a time when it was universally acknowledged to mean San Francisco whenever anyone referenced "the City" in the Golden State. Even now, anyone on the west coast who appreciates the "prince of the arts" on any serious level still make their way to the War Memorial venue.

It saddens me, probably more than I'm even willing to acknowledge.
