Just got off the phone with Hyatt Central and was connected to a Senior Reservations person who, after listening to my story and writing down the name of the website I was directed to, phoned the hotel. After me being on hold for a while, she returned and confirmed that this is a new policy going forward at the hotel and that Hyatt would be including information about this new process on their website. She was putting a note in my reservation should anything untoward happen going forward. I'm also going to be checking my credit card statement very closely in the weeks ahead!
Have been unable to use their site for payment. It keeps getting rejected despite 3 different browsers, and 2 different credit cards. This is just the dumbest thing I've come across from a hotel. Wrote them all this and will see how they respond tomorrow.
