​​​​​Many of us here get CP through credit cards and alternate CP each year through CC sign up bonuses with our spouse. That is how you get CP without necessarily meeting A-List requirements.

Like the OP, my wife also has CP this year and is not A-List (I am A-List though). However, our kid is my wife's companion (not my A-List self). For us, we have all been getting sequencial A-List boarding numbers since 'Rona started in March 2020. However, as I am always on a "revenue" ticket (i.e.points) and an A-Lister, I am not in the exact same circumstance as the OP. I strongly suspect it will work for the OP though. I just don't have a data point.
