So to all of you, please help me understand more. I’m really trying.
I’ve been called a jerk by many, and I don’t get it.
I was asleep, with thick silicone earplugs (sound does not wake me often as some have suggested would easily have happened — I sleep easily through meal/snack services)
I had short sleeves while using a long sleeve short over part of me as a layer, (I sleep “cold”). I woke when I felt a sandpaper-like feeling on my arm when she reached over me and put the blanket on.
I didn’t admonish her, complain or even speak a single word to her at the moment or later. In my groggy state I simply shook my head “no” when she asked if I wanted the blanket. I made no comment later to any FA or staff.
So what I don’t understand, is, why the pitchforks from y’all?
I simply did not like being woken up which affected the quality of my night as it took a good half hour or longer to get back to sleep. It wasn't a big deal, and I gave it little thought afterword and posted here just to see what others thought, Well now I know!
It still feels inappropriate to me for a FA to do anything that could possibly wake a sleeping customer, unless the customer asked for that ahead of time.
Why does all this make me a jerk? I don’t get it. Please be gentle, I’m actually trying here.
