After I upgraded a couple years ago, I didn't get the upgrade certificates or my 50,000 free night award until my next anniversary, after I was charged the higher annual fee.
However, I got access to the $300 travel credit immediately and was able to get my Priority Pass card and add free authorized users.
The travel credit is per calendar year, so make plans to use it by the end of 2021. Good Luck.
