We stayed for a week earlier this summer on points. As a diamond member, we received an upgrade to the king beachfront villa with a plunge pool. The room was fantastic, and made our trip. I don't think we would have been happy with a garden villa, but then again, the main pool was very nice as well. I attribute our upgrade to the resort being at maybe 1/3rd of capacity.
With two adults and two children, the helicopter transfer was just a bit more expensive than taking the boat, and it was well worth it. I would definitely take it on the way there. Another poster above asked about splitting the helicopter with another couple. Quite frankly, I don't see how that would be possible. With two non-overweight adults and two young kids we just barely made it under the weight limit (and they weighed everything, even our backpacks). If we had been over, we would have had to send our luggage via boat (at an additional cost).
Food wise, breakfast was the highlight. It was included and fantastic as far as choices were concerned. Lunch and dinner were different stories. There was reduced availability due to covid (restaurants closed), and I personally found the choices lacking (most likely due to more limited menus) and the prices expensive. I don't mind paying more for food at resorts, but I expect it to be good. The kids had the same four or five choices for dinner everywhere we went. Note -- we did not eat at the Creole restaurant at the old Daubin house which was open.
It definitively had a private island feel to it. With relatively few people at the resort, we had large sections of the beach basically to ourselves. Swimming at the beach, however, is not recommended at higher tides due to some very strong currents. And we were not impressed with the snorkeling immediately by the resort. But it was still beautiful. If you really want to get away from everyone, just go over to the beach past the presidential suite. Absolutely no one there.
98% of the island is a national park. We enjoyed the hiking on the island. The one day we were set to go on a guided hike, however, we were rained out. So we missed being able to take the hike over to the other side of the island. That may have been a bit too difficult for all of us anyway.
If not for covid, I would have probably wanted to have split our trip up and spent some time on the other islands. A week was more than enough time at the Seychelles Labriz.
All said it was a great trip. I have had the chance to go some fantastic places in my life, and this trip ranks towards the top. That being said, I probably will not ever get back to the Seychelles Labriz. We constantly were comparing our experience to the St. Regis Bora Bora where we also stayed at a beach villa with a pool. To be fair, the St. Regis is in a category or two above the Seychelles Labriz. But its the measuring stick for us, and the Labriz fell short by comparison in just about every category except for the hiking opportunities (including seeing a giant coconut crab) and the secluded feeling (which was definitely helped with our room upgrade).
