I don't think Maldives fits the ordinary rule... a good GM might sign on for 2 to 4 years there but probably doesn't want to be there for 5 to 10 or longer. I'm sure there are some who do stay longer, but it wouldn't shock me if the majority of Maldives GMs do 3 year or shorter stints.
