Sometimes they have to drive on public streets to get to the valet lot or garage. Let’s say they run over a pedestrian or hit a another vehicle… who is going to get sued, and who is going to be held responsible?
I think it is a reasonable concern, and one reason why I avoid valet parking.
I could see it causing headaches with your insurance, but there's no way you could be held criminally or civilly liable for what a valet does in your car. It's no different than if you owned the car.
