This property for me was aspirational from a points dumping perspective - why the heck not? On the one hand, I'm tempted to share all the various means by which you will be made to very seriously reconsider the use of points for a room here. But on the other hand, I'd be doing their bidding if I did so! They don't want you - so just set your expectations very, very low in terms of every aspect of product you can imagine. Also, consider that the location really sucks - you want to be in or very near Santa Barbara, not out in BFE (a Ritz resort staple that can sometimes work out nicely, but not in this case). Speaking of location, you might consider skipping a rental and just doing ride share. But fair warning: you might wait a bit for availability coming and going. And you might have to talk to people at the front desk up to three separate times to get parking removed from your bill, in spite of not having a car in their lot (check your bill on the TV from time to time).

Finally, the resort fee includes complimentary transportation to/from the airport. But don't expect them to tell you about any of that prior to arrival, even if you reach out and hold extensive communications prior to arrival.
