I think my add ons will be:
several of the high grade tapes
an extra battery
a 128 mb card for pix
a carrying case of some kind
the magic wire remote control with narration mic
DVD is currently the worst quality you can get, it compresses too much, and the discs don't take much (lengthwise).

MiniDV is absolutely here to stay and will be the dominant media for years to come.
