In most cases the "standard" MCT is completely irrelevant as there are always airline and flight specific MCT's that override the "standard" MCT.

Really just need to throw out the word "standard" and think of it as for DFW, the MCT for AA mainline to mainline, domestic to domestic, is indeed 40 mins.
