Now I am of the thought that what we are witnessing is due to the property ownership and "knee jerk" reactions to the Corvid and all it brought down on us. What we are witnessing is asymptomatic throughout the industry, save a few wonderful properties mostly in the mid/far east, Japan and Taiwan. I am most sadden by the loss of Le Bar and it's bartenders one of my favorite bar's ever. Well worth the price of admission. As a disclaimer I have not stayed there for 2 years having said that I had already made the decision to stay elsewhere due. Given what I saw then and what I am reading here now I think it's time for them to lose their "palace" status and drop a couple of those vaulted stars.
I think it’s a greater indication of how far the PH brand has fallen in terms of true luxury. Ownership will make a bit more money with events space but cost them the soul of the hotel. Same goes for all the other penny pinching. I never had good experiences with this concierge but can’t believe they would refuse to do bookings. Hiding behind an imaginary corporate policy.

I made a similar vow 3 years ago with PH Seoul when new management managed to bungle all their earned goodwill in one swoop.
