Have been in the same boat x3. We only had one problem and EXP/domestic F took care of that issue. Trip insurance can be a major pain in the a$$, especially the AA offer, and we did not use it. However we have 2 years worth of major travel booked and I literally got an annual policy through Squaremouth today, for us not for family potential death. If you are doing remote things Global Rescue might be worth a look too. We are using that next year for some riskier travel. I had one experience with Squaremouth for camera coverage. I drowned my camera at Iguazu Falls, and Squaremouth bought me a new one. The only time I have insured anything from Amazon. Not a Squaremouth salesman.
