These costs too refelected the difference in price shown online.. We confirmed two nights in the ocean pool villa in advance, and decided to upgrade the other two nights when we arrived (got a slight discount on the additional two nights).
We were explorists then (sidenote, we're Globalists as of this morning, YAY!), so no comps or anything were offered. In 2016 as Diamonds, we paid 2 nights for an overwater villa, and our first two nights were upgraded from Villa to Pool Villa (they hadn't put in Deluxe Pool villas or Overwater Pool Villas yet)

TBH, had we known how choppy the ocean would be, and how cold the pool would be (maybe time of year dependent), we would have either skipped the pool, or skipped being over the water altogether. But with calmer seas, being there is a must, because there's great snorkeling right by the room.
