I had the "cold plate" dinner/ lunch option yesterday DFW-PBI on the 20-pax A321 in F, and I thought it was a reasonable interim meal -- the F/A acknowledged that domestic first class meals were recently and slowly returning to normal service standards. But we did have glassware, and the F/A made constant beverage runs throughout the cabin. Two cocktail runs, including coffee and tea. Then the plated "dinner" with several wine runs. Cocktail nuts and later the caramel brownie were packaged and offered via tray. Then a final cocktail run via plastic cups for final descent. He also offered to mix and match the side dishes as several people declined the meal. The attentive service was refreshingly good. That can help to gloss over some of the minor deficiencies with the food itself. For a 150-minute flight, nobody in First was complaining. In fact, several people were audibly grateful.
