Separate tickets Dom-Int in CAI: Connection time needed?
Hello,
Mom is about 70 and transiting CAI on separate tickets. She has the 7:40p flight to DOH on QR and will need to come in on either the 1:20pm or 4:25pm EgyptAir arrivals from SSH and will have a checked bag.
- Is 3h15m too short of a connection for her? She will be in J and while I know there is a chance of missing the flight, it also looks like QR's desks don't even open until 3 hours prior (can anyone confirm if that is true?) so she can't get to a lounge for a few hours after arrival if the EgyptAir flight is on time.
- What is involved in making the connection in CAI beyond getting the bag at bag claim and re-checking it for QR? If I see the map correctly, she'll have to walk a short walk from the EgyptAir to QR terminal and it is not the terminal on the other side of the airport? Is there any customs/exit line she will have to wait in to get into Cairo even though it is a domestic flight?
