I agree they should’ve mention Charles forte, who had a great collection of top end hotels. It was off they didn’t as season 1 of the series had a whole episode on the balmoral and the Forte legacy.
However, I wouldn’t describe a $28m refurb of the rooms an extensive refurb like the first, they basically rebuilt the whole interior in the first refurb.
To be honest, a full renovation isn't even necessary as the rooms have such great bones. Infrastructure is great, tons of space already, floorplans excellent... they just need to update the FF&E and add some tech, like Lutron. All this will be done with this renovation and frankly their hard product may then be better than Bulgari and even Cheval Blanc.
