This has been my strategy for night flights DXB-LHR for some years now, decent dinner in the city and maybe a snack in the lounge if I feel like it. Normally don't bother with onboard breakfast either, even in F, unless I wake up early. Either arrivals lounge or heading home are better bets. The food in the Marhaba lounge is ok, better than what you'll get onboard and pretty much the same quality as the BA lounge, with possibly more choice. Alcohol in BA lounge is better, if that matters.
I avoid 3am flights out of DXB, 1-2am is about my limit, and I had shifted to more day flights in recent times.
I'd have avoided 3.30 out of choice as well, but my 2.15 (that was already a stretch) got moved. And I doubt that BAH would move me to the later morning one, even if by some miracle I could contact them...
QQ, it was mentioned that the lounge gets quieter once the TK flight departs - what sort of time is that? My flight is Tuesday if that makes any difference to schedules...
