WOW. This is unacceptable and disrespectful on so many levels.

Federal rules are federal rules, whether we like them or not. The rule is that phones need to be in airplane mode...period. While we all think it's silly, it is what it is. If there were ever to be an issue on a flight the only question the FAA would be asking would be "did you follow established policy and procedure?" Demeaning a FA for following the rules says more about you than it does the FA who everyone seems to think is on a power trip for doing their job.
