Am looking at a Hilton La Ramona in Dominican for 7 day holiday next year (2 adults, 2 older kids) Have diamond status. Hotel is only showing premium rooms with high point valuation, 285,000/night plus no 5th day free as premium, plus flights. More economical to book a vacation through Air Canada which offers a direct charter flight and reasonable hotel rate. However, can I still use my Diamond status to qualify for an upgrade etc? My understanding is that at this property Diamond will get you a room in the club section with premium pours and private pool / beach.
