Don't laugh! Do UA Visa miles count towards 1K status? Weird mileage count
In checking to make sure I have 1K BIS before end of year (after missing I needed 125K BIS to get 2 extra SWUs - duh), I counted up my actual miles and find I'm going to be 300 short. No worries. I can do a cheap puddle hop somewhere. From an EQM POV I'm going to end up w/ close to 150K after my upcoming LHR trip, but I want to secure BIS.
The weird part is that UA has me down for several thousand extra EQMs. Ok, I deducted the 25K roll-over sloppy, and I'm not talking bonus EQMs (which show up in a dif spot on the summary). UA still has me at several thousand more actual BIS miles than I think I have (talked to MP).
So on the one hand, don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth & not having to fly again would be ok after my upcoming trip. On the other, I don't want there to be a mileage adjustment & find out Jan 1 I'm 300 miles short.
So the only thing I can think of is - are they counting the UA Visa miles towards BIS miles? Doesn't make sense to me, but if they are, something learned & 1 less RT to fly. If they're not, then this is just one of those technological wonders & I'll do a quick puddle hop just in case the wonder gets reversed.
Any thoughts? Cheers. Sharon
