Isn’t that the truth… I experienced the rescan at the door to the ramp for the first time a few weeks ago. When did they start doing this? On previous flights there was almost always a problem with the pax count. Most of the time a few recounts and some confusing about a baby counting or not resolved it, but in the last three or so years I experienced at least two walks of shame of a passenger leaving the wrong plane. One time it was after two recounts… and it was the guy in 2D (exit row) who apparently had earbuds in and missed the whole drama in the front galley three feet away from him. And one time a young lady (likely college student) came to the FA at the front right after landing and asked when the flight would continue on to Fresno… (it was the last flight into RDM that night).
