I’m looking at a long haul fight from EWR and while the seat map shows at least 16 Polaris seats available, in expert mode it says only 7 left for J class fare. When I try to search a booking of 8 people at once in Polaris class, it shows business not available. Only available when it’s a booking of 7 or fewer people. Anyone have any idea why there would be 16 seats unclaimed but only 7 more seats can be booked? I’m guessing it’s because they were sold but the people just didn’t pick a seat or UA is blocking seats. Economy class doesn’t seem to be overbooked though.
