Just returned with family from a long weekend trip to Paris out of EWR with a total of six of us (all vaccinated) on three different reservations. Outbound on 10 November and back on 15 November. I was a little p.o.'d that although I very carefully complied with all the TRC requirements, I wasn't able secure a single boarding pass in advance.

On the outbound trip, I loaded scans of the CDC cards that were shown as accepted, and scanned all the passports, all of which ending up showing pending approval. At EWR, we ended up having to answer all the questions again, show CDC cards and passports, etc.

Coming home the passports were accepted, probably because they were already in the system. As vaccinated Americans, we needed proof of a negative covid trip in the 3 days before the flight. In order not to run around Paris looking for a pharmacy to get a test, I ordered the Abbot test kits and we all registered for Navica and downloaded the app. We took the test in the prescribed time period; we were all negative and were able to download the results from Navica (emed) and store on phones as PDF's. I successfully uploaded all the results and received a message that they were "pending approval." Approval never came. We checked in at CDG and showed the same documents to the agent on our phones which were readily accepted.

Luckily, there were very short check-in lines at both EWR and CDG, but that's not the point. For those that carry-on luggage, one of the primary points of obtaining boarding passes in advance is to go directly to security. Why bother with TLC if it doesn't work? A check-list would accomplish the same.
