Hertz is a pain with this because they won't let you cancel a reservation online or from the app once the pickup time passes. As a result, we've gotten into the habit of making the pickup time an hour or two after the intended arrival time to ensure enough of a window to cancel any dups.

We've never tried this with National. We assume they will let you cancel a reservation via their mobile app even if you're past the scheduled pickup time?
