Before buying, You could check if upfaring your economy seat to a different economy fare class (eg earning 75% instead of 25-50%) is available
typically higher price = available to cancel for a fee, while lower price = cancel for larger fee or no cancel at all

I believe SQ still offer free changes for any class (fare difference may be due)
