Would prefer to upgrade the entire trip, but it looks very unlikely that the first sector will have availability whilst the onward flight may well have. It’s a morning departure and breakfast in the F lounge would be much better than on board so it would improve the ‘value proposition’. Sector is DXB/LHR.
Yes, your boarding pass will be updated and you will have access. If the upgrade is available you could probably go to either lounge to do it. Or just do it on your own phone over Wi-fi? If you do it prior to checkin on your first flight then obviously it would save time for when you land in DXB.
