Since I never got a valid answer, I decided to not prepay any baggage. Unfortunately, I got charged $75 for a second bag (which is absurd IMO)… I filed a claim against them and they ended up refunding me. As a Star Alliance Gold, you’ll only get one 23-kg baggage allowance for S-fare tickets (essentially copying UA and AC’s baggage policies for A* G pax). You won’t see me flying them anymore going forward…
