Sure, they were available during the height of Covid, but honestly pre-Covid that was a tough route to be honest. Once you remove your limit and you accept a domestic flight in Y followed by a TATL flight in J ... are you still seeing zero?
As I said, I agree that SFO-LHR is usually a tough route. But this tough?

Okay, here's a look at what it looks like if you include nonstops. I obviously did not click on every single day to see what the lowest option was, but most days I looked that had 75,000 or less available, it was almost always a mixed ticket on AC metal with at least a 3-4 hour layover. It also required clicking through one more page and scrolling to the bottom to find it – sorting by lowest would not show it at the top.

I don't know how much more we need to look at, but I think it's safe to conclude that:
  • The range of what used to be a standard J award to Europe has increased from 155,000 to ~175,000, with some days being slightly less, with other days sometimes being far more than anything we've ever seen (395,000+). As far as I see it, that is by definition a devaluation.
  • There is a lot less available in what used to be the saver J award range to Europe. That may simply be a result of UA anticipating demand to rebound in the upcoming months.
  • There's a lot less saver-range availability specifically on UA metal than there used to be, and of the saver-range availability there is, it's almost all on Star metal with substandard itineraries.
Maybe I'm way out of line, and maybe we're all just cherry picking here. But if that's the case, then can anyone point to cases of where things have changed to be better with more availability? If so, let me know.

If I enter January as the month, I would expect a calendar of 30/31 days starting 01-Jan. However, I get the availability of a specific day: 15-Jan.

Regardless of the month I choose, I get the availability of the 15th day of that month.
Yeah, that's basically what it was doing to me. It's pretty finicky. When you get to that result page, underneath the 7-day calendar, you'll see a link you can click: "View 30 day calendar." Even then, it would then sometimes default back to showing a 30 day calendar, but for coach only. I'd then click the drop-down in the top left to then go back to business/first.
