I’ve done a 2 hour hand baggage connection in my pre GE days before it is possible. I’ve also waited over an hour to get through immigration. All depends on whether the passport machines are friendly to you helping you whizz through and what other flights land around then.
Flying still isn’t back to normal in terms of numbers so I would say you have a chance, but prepare a plan B just in case!

No global entry so it looks like we will need an early arrival (there were a few last week) or, as you say, a lucky break in immigration queues.
Plan B is an UA flight at 22.40 and an AS flight at 23.35. Both are very pricey and nearly full so it may be an o/night at LAX. Discounting rental car option as would limit champagne and cocktails!
