Please be very careful with Air Canada. Adding another country to your journey in the covid era is very risky. Canada has some very tough regulations which will apply to you under IRROPS, etc. Despite what Air Canada advertises, YYZ is not a seamless transit hub and AC has frequent schedule changes. Better off transiting with UA via IAD.

YYZ is not bad if transiting AC/UA-AC or v.v. It's when connecting otherwise that YYZ is problematic as there's no ITI at T3 except when going to,, but not from the US.
YVR is much better from this point.
Point is the airport itself is as important as country.
