Can we all just agree that DL doesn't want to give diamond to as many people as currently occurs? To be fair, all the airlines are busily milking the base they built on their loyalty programs. I understand the entire reasoning too. After all that investment people are vested in believing that something for nothing will happen. Airlines can take a whole lot more from their base of customers before most customers will realize the status game is rigged.
