Something I wish Hilton do would do is have a stated policy if the restaurant at the property isn't open and they can't provide any breakfast benefit. Like how HGI does if you want points instead of breakfast.
I stayed at the Distrikt in NYC the first weekend they reopened last month (great stay for the rate since they waived the uban fee and staying there Thanksgiving weekend again) and no restaurant at all so they did waived the "urban fee" since one of the benefits was two drinks a day at the bar and the gym was closed (I'd rather just skip the drinks anyway and no pay the urben fee and the gym access is a diamond benefit anyway) and when I complained about breakfast gave me 10K extra points. This was a three night stay and planet of better places in NYC to eat breakfast at and I rarely used the Hilton breakfast anymore since the DT Times square and Times Square hilton are both closed for good, plenty of better places in NYC to eat at. My room was booked for two and a good friend of mine who is only gold stayed only two nights last weekend and booked the room for one at a little cheaper rate and received 15K points. So they gave a lower tier, staying one night less and for only person in the room more points. If restaurant is still closed wonder how many points they'll give me this time for a two night stay at a similar rate per night as last month..
If the restaurant is closed they should base the points on how much the credit would have been and you shouldn't have to ask for it.
