That is not as much leverage as you might think, it is still a HA flight and UA has limited flexiblity.
I’m curious as to why. If other HA options on LIH-HNL with UA flight numbers are showing as bookable, why would it be an issue? I do get HA only sells so many seats to codeshare partners (particularly in F) on their inter-island flights but if a dummy booking shows other flights with available space when booking as UA marketed flights, why would it be an issue for UA to switch me?
